Tenant Rights and Responsibilities

As a tenant, you have certain rights – and you also have responsibilities.  Also, your landlord has rights and responsibilities.  You should know what both are since landlord-tenant disputes occur often. Both landlords and tenants can often avoid disputes if they are aware of their rights and responsibilities.

The Missouri Landlord-Tenant Law spells out the rights and responsibilities of both tenants and their landlords. And, lease agreements signed by both landlord and tenant should detail the responsibilities of both parties. Without a written lease, disputes between landlords and tenants often need legal resolutions. The best way to avoid problems is to have a written lease.
