Several local organizations offer homebuyer education workshops to help homebuyers be successful.  These workshops help people evaluate their financial status to find out if they are ready to buy. They provide participants with information about budgeting, insurance, credit, avoiding loan scams, home inspections and maintenance, and mortgage choices.  If you are not financially ready to buy a home now, classes can provide long-term planning for future homebuyers.  And, participants in special home buying programs often must successfully complete a homebuyer education course to qualify for down payment help.
